What is RCIA?

The OCIA, formerly known as RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults), is the Catholic Church's process for welcoming adults into the faith. It's a journey of faith and formation, guiding individuals through learning about Catholic beliefs, participating in prayer and worship, and ultimately receiving the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist). The name change to OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults) in the US reflect a greater emphasis on the lifelong nature of the Christian journey.
