Bishop Barnes

Most Reverend Bishop Gerald R. Barnes, the spiritual leader of the Diocese of San Bernardino - our Local Church as the 170th diocese of the United States, is an advocate of spiritual strength, a valiant knight for the cause of recognition for the unheard, oppressed and the cultural inclusion with a strong voice for unity among the parishes and missions of our diocese entering in the 21st century.

Our diocese is composed of 97 parishes and 13 missions and is growing constantly and Bishop Barnes' message to all faithful is one of concern for individual growth and diverse ministries available to all and inviting each of us in a daily service to the people of God.

His devotion to new ideas and his vision for a diocese challenged in a growing secular modern world is one of combining culture efforts for mutual understanding and collaboration, revived neighborhoods and wholehearted generosity to all that promotes unity and love in the Spirit of Christ Jesus.

May our diocese continue and strive to be a beacon of hope in the life of all who know Christ Jesus our Lord, and go on to share the Good News by impacting the life of our community at large.
